God Breathed: A Study of How We Got the Bible

Have you ever wondered about the Bible, where it came from and how we got it?  Perhaps you’d like to know more about how this marvelous Book came to us in the modern age.  Or perhaps you’re more of a skeptic.  Despite the Bible claiming that all Scripture is God-breathed, you’d like more proof.  You’re not sure if this Book that means so much to many people is actually a book that can be trusted.  People say the Bible is God’s Word, but how can they know that?  These are critically important questions.  And these are the kinds of questions, and many more, that this study will attempt answer.
Over the course of 17 lessons we will look at some very old documents with exotic names like the Septuagint, the Vulgate, the Codex Sinaiticus and the Dead Sea Scrolls.  We will learn the thrilling stories behind the discovery of some of our most ancient manuscripts.  We will challenge ourselves with some of the perplexing translation issues that accompany making the Bible available in languages we can understand.  We will even look at some of the efforts to discredit and undermine the Bible.
